Hello there!

I am a retired teacher with 35 years experience, and still loving when that light goes on in a child's eyes the minute they finally "Get It". I have worked with hearing impaired students my entire career, and can sign fluently. With working in the field of "Deaf Education" I have had the opportunity to hone my skills of working to each individual students needs. I not only have worked with students with hearing losses, I also have vast experience in elementary and middle school hearing students.
I have experience with teaching the core subjects in elementary and middle school. I also have experience with teaching "ESL/ESOL language to middle school through adult learners. I have worked with students in gifted talented programs, general education classes, and special needs classrooms. I believe every child is so very important to our world no matter what their functioning level.

I am a compassionate person, who believes ALL children can learn and excel to the expectations put upon them. I understand about Standardized testing, and can help students be successful on those type of tests. One quality that I have developed through all my years teaching is that I can explain a topic many different ways to better help the student grasp and internalize the information.

My passion is to help children be and feel successful, reach their potential, and step closer toward being a positive part of society. When that happens I know that student is gaining something for life, and that makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Carol is Both Knowledgeable and Patient

After spending my entire career on a PC platform, I'm learning how to use Apple products for my primary computing and data management needs. I reached Carol through WyzAnt and have been very pleased with her one-on-one tutorials. She's now spent about 10 hours helping me learn how to navigate on my iMac and other devices (iPad and iPhone) and to generally understand how to think in "Apple." I've found her to be very knowledgeable in each of the areas where I need help and very patient working with me to make sure that I've "got it" before moving on from one topic to other areas. As such, I would highly recommend her for any tutoring needs that you may have related to Apple products and I strongly suspect that her skill levels are excellent in other areas, as well.
