Has your child ever felt overwhelmed or hopeless when facing certain subject matter in school? Maybe they want to do well, but just can't seem to understand the material, or keep up with their classmates? Maybe they have felt so lost for so long they have no motivation and school has become a place of dread? Whatever your child may be facing, we all know what it feels like to be an outsider or not good at something at some point in our lives. For a child not doing well in school, it can be a very cruel and painful experience.
I am here today to tell you that not only is it possible to turn these feelings around, but doing so will restore confidence and self-motivation. The most important thing about learning, and the focus of my teaching methods, is to keep things as fun and interesting as possible. The more entertaining and engaging it is, the more of an impression it will leave and the more confidence it will generate. I am an extremely patient person and I enjoy nothing more than to see the look of accomplishment after a student experiences progress.
I graduated from Davison High School with Honors. I have been in Honor's and Advanced Placement classes since 5th grade and scored a 31 composite ACT score, my highest scores being 35 in Science and 33 in Reading and Math. I recently graduated from Mott Community College with two Associate's degrees - an Associate of Arts and Criminal Justice.
My class focus has been mainly in the humanities, technology, and criminal justice departments. I have had coursework in psychology, education (including those with exceptionalities,) sociology, anthropology, ethics, philosophy, logic, multi-cultural communications, public speaking, computers, physics, corrections, law, and paralegal courses. I have worked with special needs students in a Class Room setting, and have taken an education class for special needs while at Mott.
