Hello! My name is Mike and I am a K-8 Certified teacher with a major in Language Arts.
I'm a very passionate person when it comes to education and benefits for a student. For the past couple years I have accumulated over 100 hours working with students (teaching and observing) as well as add myself a part time building sub. During the latter, I was given tasks that involved carrying out lessons so I am well adapt in finding ways of helping struggling learners.
I'm very patient and like to be laid back. I find it less stressful on both the instructor and student of both find a common ground and mutual liking. I'm going into teaching to reform the common mindset of harsh teachers and instead create a healthy, effective educational setting.
I have worked with students from grades 1-7 on all forms of Math and Algebra. My scores on MTTC and several tests in college help made me stand out and gain recognition from College of Education.

Listed is my standard rate for 1 session. However I have special pricing for groups and multiple lessons.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I completed all requirements to obtain my Bachelors Degree with my major being Elementary Education. I completed student teaching last year and have a couple years experience with substitute teaching. I have also begun to volunteer for community work. My next endeavor is being a camp counselor for a 5th grade camp.
I have worked in multiple school districts teaching the subject of math.
I have taken and passed all required mathematics courses needed for my degree.
My major is Language Arts with a strong emphasis on critique and the writing process
I have been playing guitar for the past 9 years. During that time, I have also taken a class for an elective course in a university. I have been trained in scales, chords, and notes. I have played before live audiences numerous times over the past several years as well say taught others in home.
I have an ELA endorsement from Wayne State University and completed all requirements for my teaching certificate K-5
