I have more than seven years experience as a tutor. As an undergraduate student at Wayne State University, I worked as a teaching assistant in biology and college writing. I also serve as a mentor to elementary school students in Brightmoor After School Program and also teach various subjects (writing, reading, biology, philosophy, math) at Mariners Inn.
I have tutored Math, including algebra, pre-calc, calculus, and geometry to nursing students at OCC, high school students, as well as college students at Wayne State.
I'm a currently a medical student at WSU School of Medicine. As an undergraduate at WSU, I worked as a student teacher of biology and college level writing. My teaching philosophy revolves around the idea of not merely giving the student the fish, but teaching him/her how to fish. I am very enthusiastic and always strive to have my students succeed. I am proud to say that a lot of my students have passed their classes, graduated with honors, and even have moved towards graduate school. Hello

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
