I have had remarkable experiences working with students. Art is my passion and I love to share my knowledge of art history with students. I focus on contemporary art, but I emphasize the importance of history and how it has influenced the art that is made today. I have worked as an admissions representative, reviewing high school students portfolios for acceptance into Maryland Institute College of Art. This experience has given me the opportunity to help students develop their portfolios and get higher recognition in advanced placement programs and receive the help to get scholarships.

While in New York for the past eight years I worked with galleries. Most recently Pace gallery. Known for their wide range of world renowned artists, I have worked with Chuck Close, Kiki Smith, Tara Donovan and Claes Oldenburg just to name a few. I am a strong believer in hard work and persistence and I try to instill these values in my students.

To understand contemporary art, one must not just look back at modernism but to the renaissance and former. Starting with prehistoric cave drawings, to the commercialization of pop art, I teach history along side teaching the technical aspects of drawing painting and sculpture. Having a well rounded knowledge and skilled approach to craftsmanship, I give my students the tools to apply their skills in all facets of art making, such as design, architecture and studio art.

If you are looking for help putting together a portfolio for undergraduate programs or seeking help with (AP) Advanced Placement work, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will work hard to help you reach your goals and develop your unique voice as an artist.
