I am a resident of Berrien County and have lived here all of my life. I graduated from Lake Michigan College, earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University, and obtained a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from WMU, as well. I have been employed in the social service field for over 23 years working with individuals from age 17 to 77 of various races, socioeconomic backgrounds, and impairments. I was trained through the local literacy council to assist individuals to learn to read. I have taught an active parenting class and facilitated mental health first aid training. I compose documents, on a daily basis at my employment, that are accurate and concise, and I enjoy editing and improving the qualify of written work. You will find the I am patient, tolerant, concise and humorous with excellent oral and written communication skills that could be a great benefit to assist you in reaching your educational goals. I have high moral standards and Christian values. I am an encourager and supporter with a desire to help others succeed. I have experience in various environments including retail, office, legal, and long-term care. You will find that I am sensitive and understanding with your personal challenges and struggles.
You can learn so much from me! I have many personal interests, skills, and talents that include mountain climbing, cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, photography, cycling and overall fitness. Currently, I am reading books on the power of habits, the magic of creativity, and medicine and miracles. I am a member of a local church where I serve in many capacities that include co-chair of the missions committee and a long-term member of the choir. I have a passion for helping others move forward in their lives and I would be honored to assist you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
