One of my greatest joys when it comes to tutoring is being able to work with a student one-on-one. Often times you are able to really pinpoint the areas they are struggling with because I'm able to focus all my attention on them. Tutoring also helps me to learn what kind of learner the student is. I'm able to see which strategies work best for them and how I can incorporate those strategies into my classroom teaching.

If you are struggling with the writing process or need someone who can teach you using the learning style you prefer, I'm your woman. I always listen to the concerns and expectations of my students and their parents. We are a team working together to make sure that the student becomes successful and it isn't a one person job. I welcome your feedback and will do my best to ensure that your experience is a positive one.

I have my ESOL endorsement. As part of my teaching education I had to do 60 credits worth of ESOL classes. Also, I've been teaching for the past 12 years and for the last 9 years I've had ESOL students in my classroom. I use a variety of different ESOL strategies to teach in my classroom which help my students to become more successful in their school career and later in life.

I've been teaching for the past 12 years. I began teaching in 2004 in a 4th grade above grade level classroom. I then taught 2nd grade for 2 years. After that I taught first grade for 5 years and was the team lead. Finally, for the past 4 years I've taught Reading, Writing and Social Studies in a 4th grade Gen. Ed. classroom. I began tutoring as a sophomore in high school and have continued to do so until now. I generally tutor students in reading and writing, but I've also tutored in science and math.

I've been exclusively teaching reading and writing for the past 4 years so, I feel that I have a pretty good grasp of these concepts. Also, I've been an elementary school teacher for the past 12 years. I am currently the Intermediate Lead at my current place of employment and I've also been Lead Teacher for 4 years when I taught 1st grade in Collier County. Administration constantly comes to me for assistance when helping staff improve their classroom management skills and their students writing skills.

Very organized and well thought out plan

This was our first session with Josie for our son. She came with a plan, tested him and set up homework for the following week. We appreciated how organized she was and are hoping this proves to be a successful summer session!
