I started tutoring Math when I was a high school student and I continued tutoring in college. I love teaching people how to enjoy and understand math as much as I do! I started tutoring Math when I was a high school student and I continued tutoring in college. I love teaching people how to enjoy and understand math as much as I do! I am a very patient teacher and listener. My goal is to help you feel confident in math and to one day be able to succeed all on your own!
My favorite subject in school was math - I actually looked forward to going to class and didn't mind studying for my tests. As a matter of fact, during my free periods, I tutored middle school students in their math courses. Most students don't enjoy math as much as I do, but I was still able to get them engaged on the subject. I never left a student confused and made sure they understood the concepts and could do it on their own without my help. My senior year, I scored a 27 on my ACT in the Math category.
When I went to college, I studied math with the intent of becoming a Math Teacher. I then changed my major to engineering and continued to take physics and additional math courses, all the way up to Calculus level 3. While in college, I had a job tutoring students in Calculus 2. Again, I made sure that students understood the concepts rather than just helping them get the answer. I made sure that they could take what I taught them and do it themselves, hoping they could improve on their own.
Another job I held in college involved being a teaching assistant for Computer Science Engineering. While the topics were not focused entirely on math, teaching students computer basics and Excel concepts still provided me with experience teaching. Many students came to me for help knowing that I would be patient and understanding, and FUN while teaching them!
There are many people who can teach Math, but I think my LOVE for Math makes me a more unique tutor, as I find joy in it and really try to make it fun - as fun as it can possibly be for students. :)
Please contact me if you want a fun, energetic tutor to help you understand math and hopefully love it as much as I do!
