My name is Max, I'm currently working as a bridge engineer-in-training at a large engineering firm in Detroit, Michigan. I graduated from McMaster University in Civil Engineering. I was given the Physics Award and Carruthers Shaw Scholarship at my high school graduation for my ability to teach physics to my peers. With over 200 hours tutoring during the pandemic, I have tons of experience with effective virtual learning strategies and a bright student roster to show for it.

My experience teaching/tutoring includes opening an after-school robotics school in 2015, when I was only 18. We taught children ages 6-18 the mechanical and programming aspects of robotics. From 2015-2020, I was also a mentor at my high school's FIRST robotics team. Here, I taught high school students mechanical design, and other STEM concepts. I became the lead mentor of the junior team by 2017 where I coached the team to the World Championship qualifications two more times before leaving the team.

My core values are to help students succeed in their goals, set new ones, and continue to achieve higher and greater goals. Not only do I want to be one of many methods students use to get ahead, stay ahead, or catch up, but I also want to be a role model for my students to emulate.

My strongest units to teach include:
-Physics: dynamics, kinematics, statics, forces, energy (up to college level)
-Math: calculus and functions (up to AP calculus), statistics (up to high school), algebra and geometry (junior and high school)
-Engineering: civil engineering fundamentals, drafting (2d multi view, 3d orthographic view), design process
-Other skills: excel programming

Civil Engineering

I graduated from McMaster University from Civil Engineering in 2020. McMaster is accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. I passed my Fundamentals of Engineering exam in 2020, giving me the title of Engineer in Training.
Elementary Science

Elementary Science

In highschool, I was awarded the science department award for physics for tutoring my classmates effectively. I had to jump ahead of the class to take my SAT2 tests, and so I was ready to help others grasp the concepts we were learning in class. I continued to tutor in all areas of science, math, engineering, and robotics. I even opened my own small tutoring school! Throughout university and into my early career, I continue to tutor to keep myself sharp when I don't always use these fundamental skills in my day-to-day work life.

Knowledgeable and Encouraging

Max helped my daughter with her orthographic views assignment for her 9th grade drafting for engineering class. She was able to get the assignment done with his help, but what was more noticeable, was the confidence she gained from just one session. I will definitely recommend him. He seems to be great with kids.
