I teach 7th grade math in one of the larger school districts in the area. I have been teaching for 16 years and truly enjoy the moment that a student really "gets it". I have also taught 6th grade math, fitness, computer literacy, and study support during my teaching career.
Before this middle school, I taught high school summer school, worked as a long term substitute on 3 occasions, and was a paraprofessional for a high school visually impaired student. I used each opportunity to learn more about what I liked about teaching, how to refine my own style, and to serve the students with whom I was working.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
