I enjoy the experience of tutoring/teaching and I enjoy helping students succeed!
I specialize in tutoring both basic math and Algebra I. I spent the majority of 2012 teaching math to middle school students. Since that time, I have volunteer tutored 70+ hours in basic math/algebra, GED preparation and ASVAB test prep. The last has included word knowledge and paragraph comprehension, as well as math.
Another of my strong skills is generating and proofreading papers for spelling and grammar. My academic training was more slanted to church history, with some ethics and philosophy thrown in, so I welcome inquiries here as well.
I will do my best to help you succeed if you engage my services. I seek to be challenging and also strongly encouraging. If you are ever not satisfied, I shall do my best to find a way to change that. I want to earn my money with your satisfaction!
I have a home office if needed for tutoring, but I am happy to travel to make things more convenient for students (and parents!)
I DO look forward to hearing from you and WORKING TO ENSURE YOUR SUCCESS! I enjoy the experience of tutoring/teaching and I enjoy helping students succeed!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
During the 2012 school year, I taught middle school math on average about 22 hours a week (a second job). This included both in classwork time as well as privately tutoring one middle school student. Young kids are often excited to learn once barriers are broken down/trust is established!
Both my degrees are in religious studies. Among other subjects,I took classes on early Christian and Reformation history (including selected readings in theology for both). I also had classes on the New Testament books. I am fairly familiar with creationist argumentation and intelligent design theory (I do not subscribe to either one). I am less familiar with Judaism, Islam and other religions, but can navigate my way through the books.
