I am a 4th year PhD candidate studying aerospace engineering at the University of Michigan. I hold a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from Columbia University. In addition to my lab and academic experience as a graduate and undergraduate student, I have interned at various NASA centers for a cumulative amount of time of over a year and a half.

Beyond my professional history, I enjoy working with young students, particularly in middle and high school. As someone who benefited greatly from a few, key enthusiastic teachers in my early education, I feel I have a certain responsibility to help others academically if I can. I think that every child has the potential to do (and learn!) great things, even if they cannot see it themselves. I only hope I can play some role in helping them realize it their potential.

Due to my degree in mechanical engineering and current studies in aerospace engineering at the graduate level, I am very comfortable and knowledgeable in math and physics. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have more questions regarding my qualifications!

Please contact me if you need tutoring in math or science (physics in particular for high school students, general science for middle school)!

Makes my daughter feel like she's "got it"

Joshua thinks ahead and comes up with new ways to present a concept so that, if it was hard to get in class, he is showing it to my daughter in a different way that clicks. The other thing I have noticed is that he is checking comprehension at every step of a problem - asking "okay, and why do we know that is true?" or "now what if that were a negative, what would be true instead?". He does it in a comfortable and non-scary way and my daughter feels prepared!
