Hello! I am a PhD student at the University of Michigan interested in assisting students reach their academic goals. I have had the fortunate experience of being a Teaching Assistant (TA) at a High School and Elementary where I got to interact with students from various ages. I rapidly became passionate in education and enjoyed my time in the classroom setting. Later on, I was able to teach an undergraduate course at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This was also an exceptional experience that gave me the opportunity to work with yet a different age group. As a current doctoral student, I don't have the required time in my schedule to allow me to be in a class-room setting. I hope use this opportunity to allow me to continue to assist students and facilitate their school success.
I have always enjoyed my time with math. I learned to relate to math in ways that helped me in the class then and in future classes. I try and use examples and techniques that help the student grasp on to the material to enhance their critical thinking skills. This helps students know material (not only the answer to the question), which can be of great benefit in the future (exams and/or classes later on).
In High School, I did 4 years of Cross Country, Soccer, and Track & Field. I enjoyed my time competing and representing m school. I was captain of my soccer team and fastest runner at my high school my junior and senior years. I also had the fortunate opportunity of playing for the Palos Verdes Exiles Soccer Club (in CA), which later became Los Angeles Galaxy South Bay. I would be happy to share my expertise with aspiring athletes.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
