About Edward

I graduated from Michigan State University with bachelor’s degrees in physics and mathematics. Currently, I'm a research & development engineer. I'm involved with algorithm design, programming simulations, and digital signal / image processing. I also have numerous years of experience in programming, STEM internships, and technical projects.

During my undergrad years, I have helped fellow students and tutored independently. I enjoy tutoring students coming from different backgrounds with custom tailored sessions. There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to teaching, and my approach to every tutoring session is different. I have received a 4.0 (A) in every class I tutor, so whether it’s getting ahead or catching up, I can help you achieve your goals.

I tutor mathematics and physics at middle school, high school, and college levels:
-Algebra
-Pre-calculus
-Trigonometry
-Calculus 1, 2, and 3 (multivariable)
-Differential Equations
-Linear Algebra
-College physics up to the first two years

I also offer academic and resume consulting. I had a 10% job offer rate, in my field, for the number of resumes written after I graduated college. I have seen GPA's unnecessarily impacted by selecting courses that were not required and not of interest to employers. I have also seen internships skipped over and research opportunities missed. Needless to say, it’s not all about good grades. I can help you avoid common college pitfalls and put you on a track for success.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Differential Equations

I have taken Honors Differential Equations at Michigan State University and received a 4.0 (A) in the class. I am willing to pass on my transcripts showing this. I've also helped students who were taking the class after me with study materials and guiding them through the topics covered.

Linear Algebra

I've taken Linear Algebra at Michigan State University and received a 4.0 (A) grade in the class. I'm willing to show my transcripts as well. I've helped my fellow students when I took the course on a one-on-one basis privately.

MATLAB

I have been working professionally with the MATLAB environment for 2 years now. I spend about 8-9 hours a day programming with MATLAB as my field is simulations and design engineering.

Knowleagable and enthusiastic tutor

We worked on implicit and logarithmic differentiation. He was able to explain the why in terms that I could understand and relate to. My confidence in myself was boosted.
