University of Michigan (Mathematics)
My passion for teaching comes from the positive experiences I have had as a student. As a recent graduate of Richard Montgomery High School's rigorous IB Magnet Program, I know that hard work and dedication to academics pays off. And as someone who has excelled in numerous AP and IB tests, the SAT and the ACT, I know that these tests, while intimidating, are places where the right kind of effort yields positive results.
I have experience teaching in a variety of settings and age groups. As a private tutor, I have helped struggling high school students achieve success in Spanish, Chemistry, and high level Mathematics. As an Early Learner Assistant at Kumon, I have taught children aged 4-12 the basic mathematics and reading skills they need to succeed. Finally, as a teacher as Temple Beth Ami Religious school, I have taught over 60 middle school students how to read and write in Hebrew.
As a result of my wide range of experience, I specialize in an array of tutoring subjects, including test prep for SAT/ACT/AP/IB exams, elementary through high school Mathematics, and Spanish.
My goal as a tutor is to challenge my students to excel in their classes, whilst providing them with a relaxed atmosphere where they feel comfortable asking questions. I also offer homework resources and progress reports, if desired.
My rate is $40/hour. I am available most days of the week to tutor in the afternoons and evenings, and can meet wherever is desired. I also offer online tutoring. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
I am looking forward to hearing from you and helping you to succeed in your studies!

Jared is a fantastic tutor. He was upbeat and persistent in helping our meeting work out. He was flexible, knowledgeable and prepared to meet my daughter right where she needed for some much needed SAT math review. I plan to ask him to work with my son in Spanish also. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
