About John

Hi, My name is John. I am an up and coming full time photographer and part time student at WCC and Huron Highschool. I was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and have lived in Ann Arbor and Boston, MA. I have been actively practicing photography for 4 going on 5 years with both film and digital photography. I have studied in Boston at Cambridge Rindge and Latin Highschool, the New England School of Photography, Lapete labs in South Boston, Ann Arbor Academy, and one on one instruction with my photography teachers. I have taken professional jobs taking senior portraits and wedding photos, and am currently trying to get my fine art work shown at the WSG Gallery on Main Street in Ann Arbor, and the Ann Arbor Art Center on Liberty Street in Ann Arbor. I own a Nikon D610 with a 50mm fixed lens and a 70-300mm telephoto zoom lens and am only experienced with Nikon cameras as far as digital goes. I am also very experienced with film cameras especially nikons, Minolta, mamiya, and hasselblad as well as darkroom processes such as rolling film, developing, drying, and printing off the dryed negatives.

I have a burning passion for photography and am extremely eager to share that passion for photography and knowledge of photography with my students.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
