I am an expert in my native English language. I can read it, write it, speak it and teach it in a clear, patient and enjoyable way. I use student materials, student interests and a wide variety of audio resources to promote learning.
My extensive experience makes me uniquely qualified as an outstanding tutor. I am a published author and award - winning speaker in English, my native language. My American English accent is highly desirable, the one required of news broadcasters. Because I speak Spanish and French and have taught students from 5 continents, I know the obstacles faced by students based on their native languages. I have taught ESL or Spanish to students from preschool to graduate school, from professionals to executives. My students and I have fun learning together.
We tap the methods best suited to the student – direct, audio-lingual, structural and other approaches, as well as the internet, audio-visual materials, language books and print media – all aimed at raising the student’s ability to listen, speak, read, write, and feel comfortable using English. The students are inspired to continue and do well. I have successfully taught all ESL subjects: grammar, reading comprehension, writing, pronunciation, conversation, and more. My ESL reading students mastered Shakespeare and my ESL business students created a profitable American business.
About my work in an international language and business institute, the owner wrote this in the catalogue:

Her classes are characterized by her motivational enthusiasm and creative techniques. Students in her sections are invariably well- prepared for subsequent … levels.” I am an expert in my native English language. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
