I have been teaching for more than ten years and am proud to say that I have helped hundreds of students excel academically and prepare for standardized tests. I graduated from the University of Michigan and have a master's degree in education from the University of Southern California with a specific focus on curriculum development and designing assessments. I was the Head of Educational Development for a private academy where I also taught high school and college-bound students in a classroom setting as well as after class, one-on-one.

I developed a new curriculum under the pedagogical framework of cognitive learning theory with the explicit goal of facilitating cognitive academic language proficiency through integrated learning. To create specific learning goals aligned with current research and best learning practices, I designed & Implemented data-driven long-, mid- & short-term evaluation programs which I then had to articulate in a manner consistent with a formative evaluation. Part of my work involved interpreting summative assessment data through statistical regression modeling; I sought to exploit patterns in the data to make prescriptive action plans aligned to my students' learning goals.

I scored 161 the first time I took the official LSAT. That score is not bad, but I felt I could do better if I could just get a hold of how the test makers designed their assessment. It took a lot of time and effort; I completed and reviewed every official LSAC PrepTest (PT)-- from PT 1 through PT 92+ --at least once. Some might think this is "too much," but my mindset for tackling test preparation is to do whatever it takes. In the end, when I took the LSAT again, I scored 175, in the top 0.5% of all test-takers.

Whether or not you choose to work with me on achieving your goals, I would like you to know that standardized tests are learnable. This is a fact. If you would like to find out how and why and how this relates to your own test-taking experience and outcomes, let's talk about it

knowledgeable tutor

It was great. I liked the proofreading. It was fast and good. The correction in structure and vocabulary made the essay more effective and precise. Wish to have some more proof reading soon. Recommended.

Logical reasoning mastery

I feel more prepared to take on difficult LR sections now than I did before the lesson. Ivan assured me that I was doing well even when I did not think I was. Looking forward to improving my accuracy even more on this section.

excellent preparation

Ivan really helped me prepare for real problems that might arise in the test. He let me make mistakes without correcting them right away, which allowed me to see where I went wrong and avoid making the same mistake in the future. He told me that my work is improving, and that makes me feel motivated to keep going.

Innovative and clear methods

I was so impressed with Ivan’s logic games method! It was unlike anything I’d seen in other study materials. At first I didn’t know what to think but it soon became apparent that it was the right way to go. After just one lesson I feel more prepared to take on logic games!
