Madonna University (Sign Language)
I take a lot of pride in helping others to achieve their goals, especially when it comes to education. While in college, I was on the Dean's list three semesters before graduation and managed above a 3.5 consistently. I spent much of my time working with the community and volunteering my time working with my fellow students and those who required tutoring for such subjects as History, Theater, Sign language and especially English. I volunteer at a local school, team interpreting for a Deaf student and helping them with their school subjects. When my students achieve their goals, I know that I am really making a difference.
I specialize in American Sign Language and can tutor Hearing, Hard of Hearing and Deaf students. I spent most of my college career tutoring my fellow classmates in subjects such as English, Theater, Mythology, World History, and Literature. I have helped prepare them for exams, tests, and general studies. On my own time I am a writer, as well as an active thespian in my community's theater for over 13 years. I prefer to design my teaching methods around my students' personal needs and learning style. I try not to overwhelm my students by taking a step by step approach to all things. Progress reports are optional.
I do offer a free consultation before beginning tutoring with me. I hold myself to a high standard, and will often ask for feedback.
I am willing to travel to the student's home in order to provide tutoring services, but other arrangements can be made as the student/guardian prefers. I have no problem teaching groups as well as private individuals.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
