Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Common Core

I have a Master's degree in the Art of Teaching. I have taught several different grade levels and I am familiar with the Common Core Standards. I taught third grade for one year and in our lesson plans we had to document what standards where met. I also was required to do that in sixth grade and first and second. Knowing the Common Core Standards is important for both the students and the teacher so progress can be made throughout the year.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have been a teacher for seven years. I am proud to say I have a Master's degree and an Elementary Education degree with an expertise in Reading Remediation. I am confident in my abilities to not only teach language arts but, science, social studies and math. Handwriting

I have a Master's degree in the Art of Teaching. I have worked closely with kindergarten, first, second, and third grade students with handwriting. I use the block method for teaching.
