I've also had a number of experiences in public relations and managerial environments and employment and consider this an advantage in dealing with students regarding motivation and conceptual understanding of subject matter.
When teaching in public education, I conducted a number of private tutoring sessions on my own time, particularly at the fifth grade level and considered this extremely helpful and positive in reaching a number of students. I believe in individual tutoring as a means to assist students that otherwise may not receive the attention necessary to succeed when having difficulty in certain subject areas.
