I love working with kids and am dedicated to teaching and learning. I have worked as a teacher, tutor, and outdoor educator, and I am passionate about supporting students of all ages in achieving their goals and reaching their highest potential.

I am entering my ninth year of teaching, and as a teacher in New York, Colorado, and Maine, I have developed curriculum for and taught students in grades 6-12 English, math, science, social studies, executive functioning, and social-emotional skills. I have experience working with students in a whole class format, in small groups, and one on one. I earned my Masters in Special and General Education Grades 1-9 through a teaching fellowship program called New York Teaching Fellows. While in graduate school, I learned a great deal about child development, social emotional needs, and executive functioning that better enables me to support children and teenagers with a wide variety of learning styles, needs and preferences.

I have a wide variety of tutoring experience, including editing essays, providing targeted reading fluency and comprehension instruction, preparing students for standardized exams such as the SATs, supporting students with long term projects, helping students improve study skills, and scaffolding class instruction for students with significant learning needs.

I have extensive experience differentiating instruction to help individual students reach their goals. I find teaching and learning through a multi-sensory approach, including games, hands on activities, and multimedia, is often more fun and effective.

I am flexible and open-minded. I will work with your family to accommodate your needs and desires, and encourage your suggestions and feedback. I will not bill for tutoring sessions where the student or parents feel unsatisfied. I have a work hard, play hard attitude, and I think it is essential for students to have fun learning, while meeting high expectations for achievement. I look forward to working with you and your child; feel free to cont
