About Nick

I have the documented ability to manage the transfer and scale-up of diagnostic tests from research to pilot production levels, working closely with multiple departments including regulatory, marketing, and engineering. I helped develop an enzyme chromatographic diagnostic test (ECT) for G6PD metabolic deficiency.

I currently manage 20+ personnel in an clinical lab setting, including molecular biology, TB, mycology, rabies, bacteriology, virology, and serology.

I also write, edit, and manage several federal grants.

I am a principle investigator in the select agent program of the federal government (judicially vetted for work with highly regulated infectious diseases).

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Biochemistry

I have published several articles using genetically modified animals and cell lines to determine a negative feed-back loop during neural stem cell development.

I performed R&D (antibody/antigen design) for a biotech company specializing in point-of-care diagnostic testing for infectious and metabolic diseases.

Genetics

I have my molecular biology certification from ASCP (2014).

I am the CLIA technical supervisor for a clinical laboratory which requires me to understand QA/QC/development of genetic testing.

I have published several journal articles using genetically modified mice.
