From founding and operating my own academic tutoring service from 2001-2008, to classroom experience instructing high school level math and science, and developing my own effective SAT Prep curriculum, I can can help you or your child get to exactly where you need to be in order to see the success you need.

My teaching style is flexible, clear, encouraging, and fun! In fact, I have spent years and years developing an awareness of what makes each individual student "tick" and fine-tuning my own ability to cater to that individual student's learning style!

Although I am certified through WyzAnt to teach over 35 subjects (and I do enjoy them all), my truest specialty at this time is Math, with a particular emphasis on the Algebra's, especially Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and College Algebra - they are so crucial to success in all other areas of Math!

Personally, I appreciate the simple beauty of math and learning, and finding ways to share that beauty with my students. But even more than that, I enjoy mentoring my students in math so that they are not just learning skills, but also how to develop their own way of thinking about math that truly works for them!

In fact, in my experience as a tutor, I have repeatedly helped self-described "math haters" and even helped a "hopeless in math" student go on to choose "PreMed as a major!

It has been my experience, working with hundreds of students over the past 15 years or so in study skills and other areas, that skills and academic confidence can both be cultivated effectively. I also believe that motivation toward successful behaviors and performance are dependent upon each student's level of academic confidence. Unfortunately, a variety of interfering factors in or out of the classroom may 'stall' or set-back a students growth in one or both of these areas. I teach study skills, but I also create an environment that fosters growth toward genuine academic confidence and long-term independence. This twofold approach of addressing both skills and confidence simultaneously has been tremendously successful for my students. My goal is to help you achieve full and long-term academic confidence with a solid skill set for independent success in school and life! (Basically, for you not to need a tutor anymore. In my experience, the two key factors of success in any subject are skills and confidence. It has been my experience, working with hundreds of students over the past 15 years or so in study skills and other areas, that skills and academic confidence can both be cultivated effectively. Study skills such as time management, organization, and test preparation can be taught and are tremendously effective. I also believe that motivation toward successful behaviors and performance are dependent upon each student's level of academic confidence. Unfortunately, a variety of interfering factors in or out of the classroom may 'stall' or set-back a students growth in one or both of these areas. I teach study skills, but I also create an environment that fosters growth toward genuine academic confidence and long-term independence. This twofold approach of addressing both skills and confidence simultaneously has been tremendously successful for my students. My goal is to help you achieve full and long-term academic confidence with a solid skill set for independent success in school and life! (Basically, for you not to need a tutor anymore. Shhhh ... don't tell the other tutors!)

Aubrey continues to be wonderful with my daughter! Understanding, patient, and so thorough! She doesn't move on until she knows that daughter has a complete grasp of the material. Aubrey is a great tutor. She's patient with the student and explain very clearly. My daughter understood very well her explanations and felt very confident taking the online tutoring. Aubrey helped her with Algebra 2. They went over her homework and she prepared her for an exam.
