When tutoring it is important for the student to know the whys and not just the mechanics (hows) of mathematics. In doing so I like to point out the alternative solutions to mathematical problems via algorithms from higher forms of mathematics and computer development-- if there is interest. I differ from the other tutors as I am both a Software Engineer and a Mathematician. Some equations cannot be solved by symbols and require Numerical Methods on computers in software form to solve said problems. In Calculus alone we can see that Newton's Method, the Infinite Series, and Integration are perfect algorithmic candidates for computer code and algorithmic understanding. Coding reinforces and validates the student's mathematics through short and simple coding.

My approach to tutoring mathematics calls for examples and real-world applications, e.g. the intersection of two 3-d parabaloids as a missile-intersection scenario. Through examples, practice, and the freedom to ask questions upon questions my students leave each session with a stronger foundation then before the visit. Mathematics is a discipline that builds upon itself, and requires much time and discipline. I will emphasize the intricate nature of the subject, the study habits needed to succeed specifically in mathematics, and versatility of the solutions presented to you in our sessions together.
