University of Maryland (Math Education)
Hello future client,
My name is Stefanie. I am currently a math teacher for Baltimore County. Due to my work location, I am able to do some weeknight session between Lansdowne, MD and Bowie, MD. I am still open to do Saturday sessions in and around Bowie, MD. Through my education, I have gained the knowledge on how to effectively deliver mathematical concepts and topics to students. I have gained experience within middle and high school math (general math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus) and working with students with special needs. I have assisted also in test prep (GED, SAT, ACT, Praxis). Overall, I have assisted students in 7-12 grade and beginning college students.
My method of tutoring is mostly "hands on" with the use of a personal pad of paper. With the pad, the students are able to display to me their knowledge of the concept and topic in order for me to assist if they understand. I am also able to display the mathematical concept and topic pictorial to them. Then they will be able to keep their work as a reminder of what they accomplished in the tutoring session. I am always willing to change my method in order to accommodate the student's needs and learning style.
I look forward to hearing from you! Hello future client,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
