I've been a tutoring since my freshman year of high school in honor societies such as the Math National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society. I was also the President of my high school's Science National Honor Society so I've had to not only tutor students, but to also coordinate tutoring opportunities for all of my members. I love teaching and I especially enjoy when a topic finally "clicks" for a student. I've been able to help students get As on chemistry and mathematics exams when they were previously getting Cs or below. I don't think that I'll ever stop tutoring or teaching because it brings me so much joy in being able to help others!

One of the things I really try to emphasize with my students is the importance of understanding concepts and having a strong foundation. Simply memorizing a formula or idea will not help you on an exam unless the question is phrased exactly as the ones you've been studying. Therefore, you can do a whole lot better on tests if you understand what that formula is trying to get across instead of how to just copy it down. Secondly, most subjects (e.g. organic chemistry) place a huge emphasis on building on what you've learned before. So if you have a shaky foundation when beginning a completely new topic, you're going to have a tough time understanding this foreign idea. Thus, I make it of the utmost importance that my students truly understand one concept before I move onto the next one.

I've been a member of my high school's Math National Honor Society for 3 years. In addition, I received a perfect 800 on the math section of my SAT (1580 overall score), so I understand how to apply difficult mathematical concepts. Also, I have taken the Calculus AB and BC exams and have gotten a 5 on both exams.

Science is definitely my passion, as I am currently a sophomore biology major. Exams-wise, I have taken the Chemistry and Biology AP exams and have gotten a 5 on both tests. I also took the SAT Chemistry Subject Test and got a perfect 800 on the exam. I have finishe
