I have been a teacher in the Frederick County Public School System for 27 years. I've taught both 4th and 5th grades. I am well suited for students that are having a difficult time grasping mathematical concepts in the classroom. I can help to break down basic elementary math processes into smaller chunks for leaners who need a slow pace. I have a firm grasp of the common core math curriculum for both 4th and 5th grade, and can support students transitioning into the next grade. I can also help parents learn and understand common core math so that they can also assist their child at home.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
