In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As I have earned a Master of Music Degree with an emphasis in Composing, Arranging and Performance, I feel I am qualified to tutor students in the area of Composition because I have experience composing in EVERY GENRE of music including Classical, Jazz, Brazilian, etc. In addition to composing, I have experience orchestrating/arranging in those genres as well. I have joyously spent my life studying EVERY ASPECT of composing and what makes the GREAT COMPOSITIONS "GREAT!"
I am qualified to tutor in the field of Music Production because I have a WORKING KNOWLEDGE of Protools and the Garageband Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) as well as the MPC and Yamaha Motif ES Music Workstation apparatus. These are programs/equipment that I've used as I've traveled the world performing with different artist. I own all of the aforementioned equipment in MINT CONDITION and am willing to travel with it to different locations for the teaching/application of this area of music.
I feel I am qualified to tutor in the area of Music Theory because I have taught private/independent lessons on this subject since 1997. I have even broken different aspects of Music Theory down to a "stepwise" scientific/practical method of achieving the correct results. My sessions include lesson material that specifically focus on the areas that each student needs additional reinforcement in.
