To whom it may concern:
My name is Willie W. Jr. and I'm a "baby boomer" who came from very humble beginnings in South Carolina where l graduated from Terrell's Bay High School in 1967-. In the early 70's I went to Brooklyn, New York where I took advantage of the Grants and Scholarships to go to college because I always wanted to be a rocket scientist, so I knew I would have to have a good foundation in mathematics to make that happen. Therefore, I registered at Kingsborough Community College which is a two year community college where I majored in Mathematics and Computer Science in 1975,
Kingsborough Community College is a unit in the C.U.N.Y (City University of New York) system of 18
colleges. After intense study and hard work I graduated in 1979 with an Associates Degree in
Mathematics and Computer Science (A.S.).
You see my philosophy on education is like this: I think the investment and benefits of continuous
training and education is pretty self-explanatory because it's a life-long learning process which is the
continuous building of skills and knowledge throughout the life of an individual. It occurs through
experiences encountered in the course of a lifetime. These experiences could be formal (training,
counseling, tutoring, mentorship, apprenticeship, higher education, etc.) or informal (experiences,
situations, etc.) Lifelong learning is the "lifelong, voluntary, and self-motivated" pursuit of knowledge
for either personal or professional reasons. As such, it not only enhances social inclusion, active
citizenship and personal development, but also competitiveness and employability.
What I've learned in my educational career is that leadership, honesty, integrity, and character are
worth more than money. To make a long story short, on my journey to becoming a rocket scientist
and becoming an expert in the technologies of the 21st century and beyond, after receiving my Associates I transferred to C.C.N.Y (City College of New York) because they're known for training and developing rocket scientist; this is where I enrolled in the electrical engineering school to get some background in electrical engineering.
I moved here to Maryland in the early 90's and became a substitute teacher and I did some construction work before returning to college in 2007 and majoring in Information Systems with the concentration being in networking at Strayer University. I graduated from Strayer University in December of 2010 with a BS1S (Bachelor of Science in Information Systems) with a concentration in networking. I've just finished the graduate program here at Strayer University (Spring 2013) in the same course of study of networking, however I’ll be marching in December 2013 graduating class for conferral of the MSIS (Master of Science in Information Systems). While attending Strayer University for the last few years, I've been substitute teaching in the Alexandria City Public School System (ACPS). I also do community service at the local Family History Center Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints helping folks identify their ancestors and do their family history research, you see I'm an amateur genealogist. I also belong to AAHGS (The Afro-American Historical & Genealogical Society), Inc., and I do presentations at their yearly Juneteenth Celebration.
I've been taught by the best in the IT (Information Technology) field, in-fact I consider myself to be an IT professional. I'm presently building a website and Domain controller database (with webcam technology) for my part-time business to tutor for profit & to volunteer to help the disadvantaged in the community.
If you're looking for the best and the brightest, I’11 be happy to sit down and talk with you. To whom it may concern:

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I'm fully qualified to mentor or tutor this course because as a rocket scientist I had to have a degree in mathematics. I also am a Licensed Substitute Teacher with twelve years experience. I was told by my peers when I received my MSIS (Masters of Science in Information Systems) in December of 2013 that if I gave back to the community by getting a paid position as a tutor or substitute teacher I may qualify for the Obama Loan Forgiveness Program. Statistically speaking the U.S. is in the lower twenty five percent when it comes to math and science world wide. If more professionals would do what I plan to do our kids would excel in math and science.
I have an A. S. Degree in mathematics & computer science, so I've studied Fortan iv, PLC, Basic Computer Programming, etc. and other high level computer science languages that's what makes me qualified to tutor computer science.
