I graduated Cum Laude with a degree in History. My favorite concentration is US History but took many World History and well as French History classes. I then became a substitute teacher for a year where I accepted many jobs on the elementary level. I decided to concentrate my attention for the classroom and became a teacher assistant in Kindergarten. As a teacher assistant I was responsible for assisting with the teaching of all kindergarten curriculum. I taught small math and reading and writing groups of students with varying abilities. I was also given the opportunity to teach guided reading groups in 3rd and 4th grade classes. I am now a stay at home mom with 2 children but miss being a part of academic learning. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
