About Gashaw

My tutoring experience goes back to 2005 when I was in high school. Due to my outstanding grades throughout high school I was chosen by the school officials to participate on "Peer to Peer Tutoring Program" designed by the school administration to help students with lower academic performances.

After taking a basic training on tutoring, I have had the pleasure of helping fellow students to attain better understanding of the courses and better grades. That experience was the foundation for my love for teaching and helping people who want to learn.

I am a medical doctor who has been teaching Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology since I graduated in 2012. I have worked with nursing and other health science college students and I have had great academic success with them. The feedbacks from my students and coworkers over the years have been amazing and it made me keep the hard work.

I have different approaches to each individual depending on their interest and learning potential. I believe in setting an attainable goal and working towards that by using extensive yet non overwhelming discussions and continuous assessments.

I specialize in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology. As a physician, my excellent grounding in the medical field and my years of teaching experience make me a great tutor on these courses.

I am generally flexible with tutoring schedules including weekends and evenings. Schedules can be changed or canceled at any time before the start of the session. We can either meet in person or make it online. I give free consultations and free reference materials for my students.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Anatomy

I loved anatomy since the very first day I had attended the class. It is basically the answer to every questions we have on how our body functions mechanically. During my medical school years I got an A in Anatomy and now it's among the subjects I'm most confident about. Over the years I have been able to help college students to gain detailed and lasting knowledge on anatomy.

Physiology

Physiology is basic to the health field as it is a must to know the normal in order to understand the malfunction or pathology of our body system. I took Physiology, a 10 credit-hour-course, for a year long. It is also among the subjects I have been teaching over the last four years.
