My name is Karen and I have been teaching Math at one of Anne Arundel County's top high schools since 2006. My primary subject has been Geometry and I have been using the new rigorous Common Core State Standards (CCSS) since 2012 when AACPS implemented the curriculum. I have also taught Algebra and currently teach Pre-Algebra at Anne Arundel Community College.
I possess a dual certification in Math and PE. I was a Dean's List student and a Division I, All American Lacrosse player, so I have the unique understanding of the pressures of being a student athlete. I am available for personal training and/or private lacrosse clinics in addition to math tutoring.
I look forward to assisting your child meet their math or athletic goals.

Karen has been a blessing! My son went from failing geometry in 8th grade to receiving a high "A" during his first semester of high school! Karen is very patient and is excellent at explaining things to my son in a way that he understands. Her knowledge of Common Core geometry is top notch. She is the best!
I'm thankful Karen came to our home and got my daughter organized and on task with her math. Excellent teacher!!
Ericka, thank you for your feedback. It was so kind of you! Good luck with the coming school year.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
