About Kisha

I am a certified special education teacher who works for Talbot County Public Schools. I have recently completed my 14th year with the county in my current position as a resource room teacher. This past year I completed my master's degree in special education.

I am excited to work with your child to help improve their reading or math skills. I am trained and certified to teach the Wilson's Reading Intervention, Read Naturally and Do the Math Interventions in my home. I use an innovative hands on approach to learning that I am hopeful you child will enjoy.

My ability to plan hands on and fun interactive lessons that are engaging to students.

I have taught reading for 14 years and many of my students have specific learning disabilities in reading and make more than a years growth in on year.

My training and experience in several research based phonics interventions.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Dyslexia

I am certified special education teacher of 14 years. I primarily teach students with specific learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia. I also recently earned my masters degree in special education. I am trained on several research based interventions that a proven to be successful for students with dyslexia such as Wilsons, Fundations and read naturally.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taught in an elementary school setting for 14 years. I am a certified special education teacher with a masters in special education. I have been trained and plan to use several research based reading and math interventions to include Wilsons, Read Naturally and Do the math interventions.
