I am a senior in college. I am double majoring in English and Psychology. I have worked at the University Writing Center for the last year. I have tutored students in all aspects of writing, including brainstorming; thesis forming; development; cohesion and style, grammar, proofreading, and documentation. I am familiar with MLA, APA, and Chicago citation styles.
I am planning on going to grad school for an MFA in Creative Writing. I enjoy tutoring students, and it's great practice for my future job goal--English professor. I like the one-on-one atmosphere that tutoring provides; I feel it is easier for a student to learn when the entire session is focused on his or her specific needs. I am a senior in college. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
