Science and French Tutor
Science and French Tutor
Hello! I signed up to work with Wyzant to help students who are not receiving the direction they need in the formal classroom. During my high school years a handful of my teachers really struggled to teach the material in a way that students could understand and grasp. This translated into my peers having poor grades, low self-esteem, and an overall dislike for the subject. While we studied together for exams, I found enjoyment in teaching and helping them review the material.
Because of this experience, I would like to extend the same help that I offered my fellow peers to others who might be struggling in a science or French language course. As your tutor, I will do what it takes to help you understand, succeed, and be successful in your academic endeavors.
My love for science began during my junior year of high school when taking AP Biology. The aspect that I enjoyed the most was cellular and molecular biology. This led me to pursue a degree in Biochemistry; Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Tennessee. While completing my Bachelor of Science, I conducted research in a cellular and molecular biology lab where I studied, G-protein coupled receptors in Arabidopsis thaliana. Upon graduating, I accepted a position as a research fellow at the National Institutes of Health where I conduct research in the Laboratory of Clinical Infectious Diseases. Currently, I am applying to medical school as I plan to become a physician. With my diverse background in research and cellular biology, I am well qualified to teach students what they need to know in order to succeed in their science courses.
I began my French language studies during high school when I took AP French. Because of my interest in learning a second language, I pursued a minor in French language at the University of Tennessee. As a part of this, I had the opportunity to study at the University of Pau, a satellite campus of the University of Bordeaux. With this experience and my formal language training at UT, I am well versed in grammar, pronunciation, and cultural aspects of French language. I aim to help cultivate student's love for French language as I find immense pleasure in being able to speak a second language.
Please contact me if you would like to do a tutoring session. I am free most evenings after 6 p.m. During the weekend I am available both Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve academic success!
