I have tutored in some capacity for most of my life. In high school, I tutored students as a part of a teacher cadet program. In college I was a lab assistant in Chemistry and tutored various students in both Chemistry and Biology.
After graduating college I have tutored friends' children in both elementary and high school. My specialties include but are not limited to elementary education, biology, and chemistry. I pride myself on encouraging students to understand concepts by applying them to real life situations.
I have obtained my bachelor's in biochemistry with a minor in biology. I am currently enrolled in Georgetown University completing graduate level coursework. I would love the opportunity to share my knowledge with students who are willing and ready to learn. There is no challenge that a student can not overcome; once the right guidance is given. Misti helped get my daughter ready for her Chemistry exam. She listened carefully and thought about what was really needed. She was flexible in her approach and devised new ways of understanding that fitted my daughter's needs. My daughter really benefited from her kind and thoughtful approach.
Misti is smart, thorough, easy to work with and does an excellent job of ensuring the concepts are mastered.
Very easy going and patient. She will go over the content in a way that you will definitely understand. Very knowledgeable.
She helped me in Quantitative Analysis and she's so helpful. She reviewed the chapter before we met which was helpful to finish things on time.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have my degree in the biological sciences. I obtained above a 3.0 throughout college and I currently have a 4.0 in graduate coursework at Georgetown University.
I have worked in chemistry lab for over three years in college. I also was the president of my college's SAACS group.
