Hi there, I'm Analiese! I am a senior at Northwestern University completing a Bachelor of Music in Voice and Opera with a minor in Psychology. In addition to these studies, I am pursuing a career in medicine. Throughout my college experience, I have realized that my passion for learning has primarily increased due to my professors' engagement with the course material, enthusiasm teaching the class, and willingness to work with students to help them understand and delve deeper into the course material. With this in mind, I begin tutoring sessions by discussing my student’s goals, interests, and learning habits. I employ different methods of teaching––experimental, example-based, practice-based, and more––in order to find the best ways to explain concepts to my students. My ultimate goal as a tutor is to help my students become confident, self-sufficient, and enthusiastic about the subject they are learning.
At Northwestern, I volunteer as a fifth grade Sunday School teacher at the Sheil School of Religion, where I design lesson plans and present lessons on various Catholic topics to 10 students every Sunday morning. I also informally proofread and edit essays at the request of my fellow students. While in high school, I served as a Peer Tutor in Algebra, Spanish, and English, volunteered with VAMOS, a tutoring program that partnered high school students with Hispanic and Latino youth in the D.C. area, and also tutored my younger brother in Algebra and Geometry.
Overall, I hope to benefit and encourage students as much as possible, so I welcome any suggestions from parents or students when it comes to resources that will improve the student's learning experience. I am easy to contact and will respond promptly to any messages. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any additional questions or would like to schedule a meeting!
