My mission is to optimize student outcomes by effectively relaying subject matter and ensuring comprehension while making tutoring as enjoyable as possible. I genuinely want my students to succeed; this means I want them to get high scores and have a true grasp of the material. I understand that every student is different, which is why I advocate a highly personalized approach, coupled with patience, compassion, empathy, and a sense of humor.

I graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University upon earning my BS in Health Care Management and Policy. Prior to that, I was a National Merit Scholar and attended an academically rigorous high school where I excelled in numerous Honors and AP classes. While there, I was a member of the National Honor Society and completed service hours by tutoring an elementary school-aged girl in Math for two years. I am also a certified Health Coach, which provides me with the skills to take the "whole person" into account. Many factors contribute to academic success, and I make it a priority to ascertain which habits are adversely or beneficially impacting my students. I do possess a genuine love of learning and I work diligently to pass it on to others!

My specialties include English (reading, writing, grammar), Math (up to Precalculus), all sections of the SAT and ACT, and essay writing and editing. In high school and in college I proofread many of my friends' papers. More recently, I assisted a friend in restructuring and rewording a grad school essay. The result: the number one Physical Therapy school in the nation accepted him! Having taken AP English Language in high school and an English Literature course at Georgetown, I understand what teachers want and what students need to do in order to succeed. Additionally, I scored a near perfect score on the SAT and would love to pass my tips and techniques onto students hoping to improve their SAT and ACT scores.
