About Augustine

Every year, thousands of students have the opportunity to be considered "ivy-league material." They come from all different countries and have walked different paths in order to be received by the same applications committee. While many have excellent or even perfect GPA's, SAT's, and AP scores, only about one-third of these students are accepted. There are many factors that go into being accepted not only into "ivy-leagues" but also into the top-50 schools and counselors and parents tend to focus on grades and standardized testing. Rightfully so, these are the most important factors but they are not the ONLY factors. What most students, parents, and counselors tend to forget is the actual applicant themselves.

For over 3 years at the Princeton Review, I have brainstormed, reviewed, and consulted over a hundred students in not only their end-to-end application process, but also guided students in developing their identity and motivating them to discover what their true passion in academics are. Through this unique process, I have helped many students gain acceptance into their "dream school" but most importantly, helped admissions committees relate more to the students and who they are as a person.

I have taught TOEFL in Korea and basic English to students who have never spoken a word of English. It was a challenging experience but it taught me every student has their own way of learning a new language. Figuring out how a student learns first, then creating a specific specialized curriculum that builds on this foundation greatly expedites the learning of a new language.

Its not too late to start receiving specializing consulting now. It will all be worth it when you receive the acceptance letter next year to the school of your choice! Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions on how to start. Best wishes!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
