I love teaching, and get enormous satisfaction out of the connections made with my students. I love working with a student and seeing "the wheels turning" and the moment when they "get it".
I have 30 years of experience teaching Health Education on the college level. About 30% of that experience has been teaching individuals, including international students with varying degrees of proficiency in English. During the past year I made a career change, and returned to school to get my TESOL Training Certificate.
I have traveled internationally and have experienced firsthand the challenge, importance and pitfalls of communicating in a foreign language. I love meeting people from other countries and enjoy helping them to improve their skills in English (my native language). I am certified through the UMBC TESOL Training Course. I specialize in speaking and listening skills. I have great feedback from my students whom I have tutored in English conversation.
I have a love of the French language! I began college as a French major (although later changed my major for practical reasons). I have worked to keep up my proficiency in French, and consistently get compliments from native speakers.
Please contact me if you would like to improve your English or your French! I am happy to answer any questions you may have about my teaching style, qualifications or anything else! Great teacher and awesome person to know. She does her best to teach and improve your spoken English proficiency.
Lenore is very good tutor. She always talks with me all kinds of American culture, which is very interesting. We have a good time with her! I can ask her various languages questions, then she will explain to me detailed.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
