About Taylor

Bio

Hi, my name is Taylor C., and I would love to work with you. As the oldest child in a family of 6, I'm very experienced with teaching younger children, and have always been passionate about that, which is why I'm an education major. While working in Florida the summer before last, I cared for and taught a 6-year-old girl with cerebral palsy, so I've also had experience, and as a college student, I'm out of school for the summer and can work a school year schedule around a working position....

Hi, my name is Taylor C., and I would love to work with you. As the oldest child in a family of 6, I'm very experienced with teaching younger children, and have always been passionate about that, which is why I'm an education major. While working in Florida the summer before last, I cared for and taught a 6-year-old girl with cerebral palsy, so I've also had experience, and as a college student, I'm out of school for the summer and can work a school year schedule around a working position. I'm 18 years old, and I've spent most of those 18 years with my nose stuck in a book. I love to read, so I've learned a lot about a variety of subjects, and I've successfully completed advanced placement and college-level courses in American History, World History, American Government, Psychology, and English Literature.

I've tutored in the past at my High School during my time as a student there, and have worked as a volunteer in classrooms at two local elementary schools, and I would be honored to work with you in the coming days. I'm fond of analogies, and I tend to use them often when I explain things. I hope to work with special needs students once I obtain my teaching certification, and am interested in working with both special needs and general pathway students. I've been homeschooled and can work with a variety of curriculae, so I can be of service to a broad variety of students in their studies.

I love to read, so I've learned a lot about a variety of subjects, and I've successfully completed advanced placement and college-level courses in American History, World History, American Government, Psychology, and English Literature. I was a mass communications magnet student in high school, and graduated with honors in that field. I've been trained in public speaking, televideo production, journalism, and a variety of other fields that make the English language imperative to success.

My schedule is very flexible, and I'm tech savvy, so I'm available just about any time to help with confusing assignments or to schedule a session, and I'm willing to work in person or in an online setting, depending on your preferences and availability. Unfortunately, I don't have my own mode of transportation, so, while I'll try to make any appointment possible, I'd appreciate a day's notice before any appointment. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at any time. Thanks for considering me! I look forward to hearing from you.

Public Speaking

During high school, I completed a mass communications program from which I graduated with honors, and I took Public Speaking my sophomore year of high school in preparation for my work as a radio- and television-show host during my junior and senior years. As a result of my experience with public speaking, I was selected by the Future Business Leaders of America, Phi Beta Lambda Chapter to represent my school at the annual FBLA conference during my senior year, where I placed second in the competition. During my senior year of high school, I served as the editor-in-chief of my high school news magazine, so I've been properly trained to communicate effectively with others, having been requested by name to interview Baltimore County Public Schools' superintendent Dr. S. Dallas Dance. Outside of my academic career, I serve my church congregation as an assisting minister, a position which has required my ability to deliver a moving and relevant sermon to an audience ranging in age, background, and interest. I am very much capable of providing assistance in the public speaking field, and I look forward to doing so in the near future through WyzAnt.
