I am a 24 year old female comfortable tutoring in all levels of reading, writing, grammar, and literature. I am also comfortable with biology and some chemistry/physics. I completed AP Calc in high school, did well on the AP exam, and had both undergraduate and graduate level stats, so I would be comfortable with math as well. As an undergrad, I was a teaching assistant for general psychology, where I set up test-preps, had office hours, and tutored students who wanted extra help in psychology.
I love education and learning and I would like to help others enjoy it just as much as I do. I like the challenge and sense of accomplishment that helping someone else achieve their academic goals brings.
I have a master's and bachelor's degree in Psychology, I am currently working as a full time research assistant at a clinical research center (part time clinical, part time neuroscience), and I have tutored general psychology students before. Research and psychology are my passion, and I love being able to teach others.
Graduate level writing for social sciences, AP/Honors English in high school, creative writing in undergrad

First tutoring session with Ashleigh. She worked with my 13 y.o. son on his English assignment, which involved abstract concepts that Ashleigh handled perfectly. Even though it was their first meeting, he felt immediately comfortable with her pace and just the right level of guidance. It was very harmonious and both parents and son are pleased by her demeanor and the balanced mentoring approach.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a master's degree in Psychology from Boston University, and a bachelors degree in Psychology from Bloomsburg University of PA. I have graduate-level writing experience and tutored writing for middle school aged children.
