Learning is like an obstacle course. Once we figure out how to navigate the obstacles we move forward and our speed increases. As a tutor I am in the role of coach to help overcome the obstacles to learning. I assist the student in figuring out the type of learner they are. Some students learn with their eyes and mind. Once they read something they retain it. Simple right? There are learners that learn by listening and some that learn by touch. Simple right? Breaking down the barriers of learning assists the students on their path to success. Working with each students stengths is the key to their advancement.
Learning occurs in many places and my students have choices in their learning environment. The local library, online, telephone whichever helps the student to succeed is the location of the tutoring session. Prices are set to match each learners needs.
Student obligations include an open mind, honest efforts and a willingness to do their personal best as that is all anyone can ask.
The Eastern Shore of Maryland and lower Delaware are the areas that can be accommodated face to face.
I hold a Master’s of Business Administration
from the University of Maryland University College, (UMUC). I am
currently attending UMUC in the Doctor of Management program. I have
over ten years of combined experience impacting students, employees
and clients through skillful enhancement and orchestration of team
building and training, strategic issue resolution, and policy and
procedure development. My background is in student and employee
training, assessment and development. My biggest contribution is
support methods and practices. I also have experience in ensuring
compliance with company policies and government regulations
specifically within the legal and insurance industries.
My focus is on entrepreneurship, strategy, and change. I view the
world from the perspective of a practicing entrepreneur who has
started and lead ventures. Earlier I was a CEO of a court stenography
business. The skills I developed in research and teaching while
running my company in the competitive legal markets have had the most
impact on my work.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and seeing some of the hidden
treasures of our world. I have had the privilege of visiting many
countries across many continents. I enjoy learning about different
cultures and especially like to meet new people from around the world.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
