I have a B.A. in English and an Elementary/Middle School teaching certificate from McDaniel College. I am also Highly Qualified to teach Special Education, Elementary School, and Middle and High School English.
Before choosing to stay home and raise my two children, I taught third grade in NJ and sixth grade (Reading, English and Greek/Roman History) and third grade dyslexic students at St. Paul's School in Baltimore.
As my children were growing up, I tutored elementary age students, including those with dyslexia, in Reading and Math. I also home schooled my children for 4 years. I currently work at a Middle School as a Special Education Teacher to students who have cognitive disabilities. Formerly I worked with High Road School In-District Partnership with Dorchester County as an Elementary Special Education Teacher and Education Director. I have a B.A. in English and an Elementary/Middle School teaching certificate from McDaniel College. I am also Highly Qualified to teach Special Education, Elementary School, and Middle and High School English.

$5 extra may be charged for travel to some areas. I will communicate that at first inquiry if applicable.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am highly in Qualified Special Education MD State Dept of Ed. I currently teach a special education class of students with emotional disabilities, including ADHD. I have helped my son and others formulate strategies for dealing with the difficulties of being ADD/ADHD.

From age 5 until age 22, I was a competitive swimmer. My summer team was Tri-County Champs in S.Jersey and my high school team was a championship 1st place team. I was also captain of the Men's (yes, I am a woman) swim team in college! I swam backstroke, butterfly and individual medley.
I also ran the YMCA swim program while in college and taught swimming for 6 summers.
