A native speaker of French and German, I have spent most of my life overseas. I am passionate about teaching languages and I have taught French, German and English for over 30 years. I received my MA in French from George Mason University and spent an honors semester at Oxford University, in England. Having switched from French to American schools numerous times as a student, I know how hard work and dedication can pay off. I have also developed highly effective strategies for language learning and have helped hundreds of middle school, high school and college students learn to love and master foreign languages.
My 20 years of teaching experience include 3 years at an adjunct professor of French at George Mason University and over 15 years with Frederick County Public Schools, teaching middle and high school French, German and Latin, subjects that I am certified in. I travel overseas regularly to keep my linguistic and cultural skills current and relevant. The French Honor Society which I founded has seen yearly increases in motivated applicants! Most of my students continue their foreign language study through the higher levels and excel. I will share to love of learning languages and help students develop effective studying and learning strategies in order to succeed.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
