Ever since I was in fourth grade I have wanted to be a teacher and teach fourth grade. I did satisfy this dream. My first job after graduating with an Elementary Education degree from Towson (State) University was teaching fourth grade in a Catholic school. I taught fourth grade for two years and then third grade for two years. I returned to teaching part time at a private nursery school and kindergarten. I taught Pre-k for two years. I then developed and implemented the kindergarten program. I taught kindergarten for four years. During those years I went back to school and received my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. I renewed my certification and I am a highly qualified teacher with an Advance Professional certificate for Early Childhood and Elementary Education.
After I received my master's, I went back to teaching full time with the public school system. I have been in the same school for fifteen years. During that time, I taught first grade for twelve years and kindergarten, fourth and fifth grades for one year each. Currently, I teach fourth grade. I received a certificate for excellence in education. I also supervised student teachers and mentored new teachers in our building. I participated in many extra activities with students. I participated with Fun Saturday school, summer camp school and morning and after school tutoring. I ran a morning research group and had a Black Saga competition group. I also went back to school and accumulated 56 additional education credits.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
