I taught high school students honors physics and enjoyed every minute seeing there faces light up with my demonstrations. I taught examples from real life to my students and used an engineering background to aid in their understanding of these principles.

I am an award winning photographer who has photos on the internet, in travel brochures, record albums covers, and home decor sites. I have extensive experience in both travel photos as well as closeup work. I have a natural gift in composition to pass on to my students and have guest lectured at our local college.

My creativity has allowed ordinary snapshots to become extraordinary images which tell a wonderful story to each and every viewer. I would enjoy sharing this gift with you!

I have taken a college course in digital photography and have been now asked to be a guest lecturer in this course. I have several awards at local fairs for my photos. Over half a dozen of my photos have been published in internet sites, including travel brochures, jigsaw puzzles, home improvement sites, and record album covers. I can help students with their ability to compose, select the right aperture, or shutter speeds, recommend how to use white balance as well as other camera settings. I am willing to share my unique eye for the subject with my students.

Learning to solve physics problems is a multi step solution. I taught my students to use this approach and it worked every time. Each student that used my approach became a better thinker and developed skills to compete in school. I have taught students in 10, 11, and 12th grades in Physics for 2.5 years and each one excelled in my class. My engineering experience was an advantage which brought numerous real-world examples to my class and kept attention and enthusiasm at a high level. I motivate my students by getting involved directly such as a lesson on hydraulic pressure had them team up to attempt to life me off the ground and compare it to using a hydraulic jack to do the same experiment. They couldn't wait to "lift the teacher". I bring a curiosity of God's creation into the study of how the world works and the science that physics uses to understand it. This knowledge will prepare your student to solve not only homework problems, but will enable him/her to take these skills into later challenges in life.

Patient and intuitive

Mr. Scott C has been fantastic! The first time he tutored my daughter in physics, he quickly picked up on where she had weaknesses in her knowledge and problem-solving abilities. He gave her very helpful advice on how to overcome those weaknesses. He's very organized in his tutoring process and uses the time efficiently. We have lots of experience with tutors. Some simply help the student complete their homework. Mr. C is helping my daughter learn how to think through her homework problems to come up with the correct answer. He's also teaching her how to organize her thoughts and problem approach to give her confidence in solving physics problems. He even did a quick review of the information she would learn in her next class. Mr. C is the first tutor my daughter has felt is really helpful... and the first she's rated a 5.

Photography Lesson

I really enjoyed my lessons with Scott. Since I'm a beginner, the lesson focused on the fundamentals such as the lighting, layout, object placement, and depth. Scott did an excellent job explaining the concepts which has completely changed the way I approach a subject. I definitely recommend Scott-he's clearly passionate about photography and was an excellent teacher.
