About Kristine

Have you ever noticed that everyone does not learn the same way? Do you read something then wonder, “What on EARTH did I just read?” If you struggle with comprehension in literature or your content area texts, I am able to work with you to help find a strategy that works BEST for you. What about that essay or those short responses for school? Do you struggle with organization of ideas and details in your writing? As an English teacher I am able to support you in building stronger writing skills, as a result becoming a better writer.

As a teacher, I know how challenging it is to find time to work with students in a one on one situation. With the increase in rigor, it is more important than ever to prepare students for success in school. My goal is student SUCCESS! Success may be figuring out the best way to study for a test, learning a new strategy to understand what you read for class, or even developing better organizational skills.

I’ve been a teacher for 13 years, and have taught first grade through middle school. I’ve worked in literacy, run after school academic support programs, and am currently an English teacher. I’ve successfully supported my own children through high school and on to college. I have patience and a deep reaching bag of ideas and strategies. I look forward to the opportunity to help students gain confidence in their abilities and find strategies that work for them.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
