In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I received an MBA from Franklin Pierce University in March of 2011. I have taken courses both undergraduate and graduate level in economics (micro/macro), quantitative business analysis, management, finance, accounting, marketing and more. I have provided informal tutoring in this subject to United States Marines who are working on undergraduate degrees in Business while I was aboard MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.
My educational background and the foundation of my study skills were first really developed at The Bishop's School of La Jolla where my studies revolved around college preparatory skills. I then went on to study at the University of San Diego and I proceeded to attend Franklin Pierce University where I obtained my MBA while working full time. I have utilized both traditional and creative methods while studying and assisting others with their studying. I have been a mentor, coach and tutor so I have a wide range of skills and ideas for how to help identify what the best approach may be for each individual as each person is different.
